Positively Pretty

I must admit: I love fashion. It is my other great love besides Disney. I love reading fashion magazines, researching the latest styles, and building a wardrobe all around my personal taste. I have to say I am a very classic person in general, and that is definitely reflected in my fashion choices (think pearls, classic cuts, etc.). However, I am also quite the glittery girl, and I do enjoy some pixie dust to make an appearance in my outfits. Being a proponent of inner beauty, I believe what really makes a girl beautiful is her positive, happy attitude and kind manners. Fashion is simply a way I express myself, and I love aiding others in finding their personal style. Keeping all that in mind, I decided I would show you a Princess inspired look that I've created based on the ever so classic classic Beauty, Belle. She is the epitome of poise, grace, and inner beauty.

The golden yellow dress in a classic style is accented by the rose gold jewelry and nail polish. The glittery gold flats are such an adorable addition to the outfit. I couldn't resist adding King Arthur to this photo set, as a nod to the Broadway musical rendition of "Beauty and the Beast."

I really enjoyed coming up with this Princess look and would love to create more in the future. Let me know if you like this type of post, and tell me in the comments what your personal style is and how it reflects your inner Princess.

My inner beauty tip of the day is: You are enough. Think about it. You are beautiful, smart, and special. You are in charge of your qualities, and you can always improve yourself! However, in the meantime, know that you are so incredibly unique, and, you my friend, are enough.

XOXO,

The Pixie Dust Princess Dines: Be Our Guest!

Let me introduce you to Be Our Guest. It is my favorite place to dine in the Magic Kingdom currently. I've been there for lunch not once, but twice! I love saying that :) Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie and this restaurant does it justice for SURE!

Breathtaking view, right? There is a restaurant in there, too, if you can believe it! Wahoo! Picturesque scenery & FOOD. See those lanterns? They are the marking posts of a long wait to come. However, the two times I've visited, the wait has not been unbearable at all!

A better look at the castle. Oh Beast, where are you?! Come out, come out, wherever you are! You seem pretty friendly, and furry! :0)

Sad or happy gargoyle? I think he is just shy.

Once inside, you wait some more, but you are greeted by friendly knights of shining armor and fancy screens that display your lunch options!

My favorite part: dessert.

There are then kiosks available where you order with a real life Cast Member! (Side note: it is REALLY easy to change your order around a bit- you don't want béchamel on your Croque Monsieur? No worries- that is totally possible!) You are almost on your way to eating lunch! Once you are handed a red rose (for magical location purposes) you can fill up your own cups and get utensils. Then find a seat and you will be served via a cast member with a nifty cart (they showcase your food- so cool).

Do you see the beauty and attention to detail on the ceiling of the main ballroom alone?! Ah Disney Imagineering, how I love you! Not pictured are the library (where I ate my first visit) and the West Wing (which I personally find to be too dark and loud to eat peacefully). All three options are great, though, and there is PLENTY of seating.

Now, for the main order of business- THE FOOD! This vegetable quiche I did not try, but the party member who did enjoy this loved it! A great healthier, lighter option. Still super filling, though!

Ok, this is the STAR  in my mind. This Braised Pork was tender, juicy, and overall super flavorful. This filled me for the WHOLE day! It has mixed veggies and mashed potatoes on the side. I want it right now. SO good. (Sidenote: I really recommend this AND the Croque Monsieur to everyone, so I recommend this to YOU too!)

Here is the Carved Turkey Sandwich. I had a bite. It was really good! I love the fries here because they are definitely just your regular old Disney fries! They're the best, in my opinion!

The cupcakes here are literally delicious and fancy. This is the Master's Cupcake. I figured I needed a little grey stuff in my life. But there was MORE than a little- there was a TON of it and I believe it even filled the center of the chocolate cake. This did not disappoint. Once again, I want one right now!

I am a huge fan of lemon! This Lemon Meringue Cupcake was really flavorful from the bite I had. I've also had the Strawberry Cupcake in the past and that one is my favorite! It is pink, too, so of course I loved it! ;)

Overall, I highly recommend Be Our Guest for a rich, filling, and royal lunch! I'm looking forward to having dinner here in the future, which I'm sure will blow me away. Have you dined in the Beast's Castle? Do you love it like I do? What was your fave thing to eat here? Let me know in the comments or tweet me https://twitter.com/PrincessofPD!

Try the Grey Stuff! It REALLY IS DELICIOUS,

The WONDERFUL World of Links!

Why yes, this is my own photography! Looking forward to incorporating more of it into upcoming posts!

With summer almost here, I've been doing a lot of daydreaming about... you guessed it- DISNEY! I've been wishing to plan a trip, I've been thinking about my favorite Disney foods and just generally missing it a lot. Of course, I've been doing a lot of good old web surfing and I've compiled a list of fun Disney-fied links I've enjoyed recently. Share your own favorite Disney link in the comments below or tweet me yours @PrincessofPD!

This Disney drink makes me scared and intrigued at the same time. Oh, Disney and your creative concoction! Love the creativity behind it, though.

The rain we had a few days ago left me feeling quite nostalgic when I remembered these little beauties. I used to love donning these a few years back. They were quite fashionable, in my opinion! ;D

"Sparkly Nicole" has always been one of my faves-she just oozes positivity and creativity. A few days ago she posted this awesome post which made me wish I was at EPCOT right now! Those candied strawberries look right up my alley.

Youtube never fails me- I found this gem of a show again and watched it when I was missing it more than ever. It'll always "be in my heart!"

Disney Parks Blog has released the treats that will be making an appearance at the "Rock Your Disney Side" 24 hour event. I really wish I was going just for the Poisoned Apple Shortcake Sundae.

Nail art and Disney? Yes and yes. Take a look at this gallery for some inspiration. #22 is definitely something I could do and is totally my style. #50 is just plain adorable.

There is a mother of an amazing boy, who also happens to have Autism, who posts their Disney adventures on YouTube. I've enjoyed watching for quite sometime now and the videos really touch me. His story is just so heartwarming and is filled with Disney magic.

That's all for now! If you enjoyed this type of post, let me know! I love hearing your feedback.

Keep Dreaming,

Disney Snacks: EPCOT

I've saved EPCOT for the last destination in my Disney Snacks series. It is my favorite place for snacking in the "world." First of all, we have Future World which does offer pretty good snack items. However, the real star of EPCOT when it comes to snacking is World Showcase! Just so you know, I am more of a sweet than savory type of snacker, so if this post seems heavy on the sweet treats, that's why! :) Here are a few of my favorite snacks in the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow!

-Future World-
Basically, you've got to head to Sunshine Seasons in the Land because it is pure snacking paradise. Also, I could probably eat each meal there, too, but I digress... ;)

Strawberry Shortcake
Sunshine Seasons
This is a classic dessert that delivers in flavor. The moist cake is so good. But with plenty of juicy strawberries and cream? It is even better.

Key Lime Tart
Sunshine Seasons
Key lime pie is one of my all time favorite desserts. They place the thick, tangy pie filling in a circular graham cracker crust and top it with meringue. All together, you've got a tart and sweet treat.

White Chocolate Mocha Frap
Fountainview Starbucks
Many of us are very thankful that Starbucks is available in Disney Parks now. This is my personal favorite frap-it's so creamy and so refreshing on a hot day at the parks. It is incredibly sweet though, so be prepared for a SUGAR RUSH (and slight kick of caffeine) if you order this.

-World Showcase-
I'm only going to pick a select few snacks here, but I could definitely do a whole post on snacking around the world. If you're interested in that, leave a comment or tweet me at @princessofpd!

Strawberry Red Bean Ice Cream
Joy of Tea, China
I've only ever had this ice cream at Nine Dragons, but you can also get it at Joy of Tea. Next trip, I will be sure to pick up this refreshing, sweet treat here so I can take it to go. This snack kiosk also offers a good variety of rolls, buns and pockets.

Empanada de Queso
La Cantina de San Angel, Mexico
At this Mexican  counter service restaurant, I like to share these with my party. They are rich, delicious and filling. Oh, and cheesy. I love cheese.

Viking Chocolate Mousse AND School Bread
Kringla Bakery Og Kafe, Norway
Basically, everything I've ever tasted at this bakery is divine and everything I've ever seen be enjoyed by other guests looks amazing. You need to stop here for one of my favorites, or maybe you'll find your own!

Bisque De Homard
Les Halles Bakery, France
I can definitely say with all of my heart that this is my favorite place to snack in EPCOT, maybe even in all of Disney World! Of course, the desserts here are all fabulous (accordiong to moi!), but this lobster bisque is so creamy and rich. Definitely a favorite.

Black Forest Cake
Sommerfest, Germany
This is a rich chocolate-cherry cake that is super popular in Germany. It is also popular with me ;) I also can't wait to try the Nudel Gratin from here- have any of you tried it?

Happy Snacking!

What is Pixie Dust and Where Can I Find Some?

A huge part of this blog is about these two words: pixie and dust! Together, I think they have a nice ring to them: pixie dust! It sounds adorable, yes, but the meaning behind these two words in conjunction is something special. Let's explore the idea of what pixie dust is and means, shall we?!

My first introduction to the phrase "pixie dust" was in Walt Disney's 1953 animated classic "Peter Pan" along with J.M. Barrie's book, "Peter Pan." Tinkerbell, the sassy fairy, had this glimmering dust, which allowed her to fly. Others who were granted this dust also had the ability to fly.

"All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust." Peter Pan

This glittery dust was sparkly and golden. It was beautiful, sure, but it was small. It is dust, after all. I've thought long and hard about pixie dust. I've wished for this fictional dust on more than one occasion. Times when I've felt sad or uninspired. I thought it was really special that such a small fairy could hold all this power in her. Why couldn't I have some pixie dust? I surely needed it.

However, as I've grown, I've realized we all have the ability to share pixie dust with others. Maybe not in the form of gold dust, but in the form of kind words and thoughts. The pixie dust I have received from family, friends, Cast Members in the Disney Parks, or the online Disney community makes me feel special, just as Wendy felt when she had the ability to fly. She was able to forget all her cares and fly away with Peter Pan over clouds in the dark of night.

"So come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned. Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings, forever, in Never Never Land!" Peter Pan

Pixie dust creates memories- moments that truly do last a lifetime. Disney has sprinkled this pixie dust on me, and therefore, I feel I need to share it with others.

I want to remind you all that: "To live will be an awfully big adventure." Life is special.

So the next time you wonder where you can get some pixie dust, just look around. Pixie dust is in a smile form a stranger, in a kind gesture, in looking for the good in others.

I know Peter would say "girls talk too much," or maybe even *think* too much, and maybe I am reading into the idea of pixie dust too much. In my heart, though, I truly believe Disney has created pixie dust for all who believe in it and it's power.

I have one plea for you all: don't doubt you can fly. Pan warned us "the moment you doubt" it is "the moment you forever cease to be able to do it."

You can fly, and you can soar. Pixie dust will forever be the heart of my blog because it allows us to soar to unimaginable heights. Let's take flight together.

Why I'm Excited for The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has been highly anticipated by all Disney fans! It promises the whimsy of a classic Disney attraction along with a new venue for mild thrill seekers! The Mine Train we've all been anxiously awaiting is almost ready for business! On our recent Disney trips, we've taken a "peek" at the great progress the Imagineers have been making.

Or maybe on our more recent trips, we've seen the mine train running with nary a guest!

We long to be on that bumpy train, to visit our favorite friends while seeing them do what they do best- mine for glittering gems!

Well, folks, the time is almost here!
May 28th
is the OFFICIAL date set for the grand opening of the Seven Dwarves Mine Train to the public!
In fact, we know this because Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Tom Staggs told us so at a special press event at the Magic Kingdom!

The reason why I'm so excited for this ride is because there is simply no other like it! The mix of thrill ride and classic Disney dark ride is just amazing. The rickety little train carts rock back and forth, as though you are going to mine some gems just as the dwarfs do! These trains wind around, and up and down the mountain to add to the excitement!

Plus, the train slows down at some points so you can take in the magical animatronics! It is seriously amazing what these Imagineers can do! These aren't your ordinary animatronics. Oh no! You can see their facial expressions changing- the same type of technology was used in the animatronics at Enchanted Tales with Belle!

AND there is an interactive queue! It is sure to please the kiddos and kids at heart during the wait.

From what we have seen and heard, this ride is going to be worth the wait! On my next trip to the World, I'll be sure to take some pictures for an in-depth review. For now, I'll be humming "Hi Ho..."
