Hello there my pixie dust princesses and princes, do not fear, I am still here. Ooh, a rhyme, I like those! So, my late summer/beginning of fall period has been incredibly busy with new adventures and long adjustment periods. Each week I will try to have a good balance and variety of posts. Without further ado, I give you today's post:
"My oh my, what a wonderful day"! Ah, I just love these lyrics from the token song "Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah" (from the 1946 film "Song of the South"), known from it's Splash Mountain rendition with all the cute forest critters welcoming you after the huge plummet! This phrase just exudes pure happiness. And let's be honest, don't we just love those days where we can exclaim this phrase with pure honesty and sheer joy? I know I do. Some days you may say,
well I wish I could say today was a wonderful day, but x happened, and it kind of bummed me out. We
all have days like that, and it is completely normal! Yet, what if you totally tried with all your heart and mind to block out those "x"'s in our life. All the trivial things, people we don't want to deal with, and other frustrating situations. Of course we can't rid of these things, people and situations completely, but we can choose how we decide to deal with them. I know this is a lifelong battle, a daily struggle that people deal with, but I know when I decide to really cherish even the smallest, seemingly minute daily pleasures, that day will turn out to be infinitely better.
Lately, even I, The Pixie Dust Princess has found myself getting into new situations where things don't always go as planned. Yet, I have really been trying to focus on the good, the fun, the exciting. Even taking something boring or dull, like a rainstorm, and dancing in it. I actually took that old phrase, and lived it the other day (wearing no rain gear, mind you) and I had the time of my life. Dealing with difficult situations is never easy, and nobody said it was going to be. Sometimes, life just happens, and we really do need to "keep calm and carry on."
Princesses don't wait for others to make a move, they do their own thing, and therefore, they become special heroines in their own right. Princesses give to others even if they don't have much themselves. Princesses make the conscience decision to forgive and forget, even when it seems too difficult. Princesses find the little joys in life that keep so many going day after day.
We, as Princesses of our own Kingdoms, need to realize that even thought there is plenty of pixie dust in the world, sometimes, it can take a while to find it. That is why I write this blog, to hopefully help someone through a tough day, or to grant a smile or a dream. Princesses give and love, and hopefully this Fall, you can begin your journey to becoming your own person who doesn't need to rely on others for pixie dust. That way, when you do run across someone or something that is so pixie-dusted, it will make it that much more special.
Wishing for Lots of Pixie Dust in Your Weekend,
The Pixie Dust Princess
